1. Medical Examination Requirement
1.1 Before proceeding with renewal, your helper must undergo a medical examination through FOMEMA (Foreign Workers Medical Examination Monitoring Agency).
1.2 Key details as follows:
Register and make payment at: https://portal.fomema.my
Medical results are typically available within 3 to 7 working days.
2. Recommended Timeline
2.1 It is advisable to begin the renewal process at least three (3) months before the current permit expires.
2.2 This allows time to handle potential delays in:(a) Medical clearance(b) Document preparation(c) System availability or OTP verification.
3. Application Submission via FWCMS
3.1 As of 2025, the ePLKS system is no longer applicable. Renewals must be processed through the FWCMS portal: https://auth.fwcms.com.my
3.2 Follow the application process as per the order of steps below to ensure a smooth and successful renewal:
Register for an account via: https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my
Log in and navigate to ‘PLKS Application’
Enter your domestic helper’s details
Upload the required documents
Verify your application using the OTP sent to your registered contact
4. Required Supporting Documents
4.1 Prepare the following items before starting the application:
Valid passport (with at least 12 months remaining)
Copy of current work permit
‘Fit to work’ FOMEMA medical report
Valid insurance documents
Proof of security bond
Copy of employer’s NRIC or passport
5. Payment of Fees
5.1 The total fee varies depending on the nationality of the domestic helper. It typically includes:
Government levy
Visa fee
Processing fee
5.2 Payments are made directly within the FWCMS portal via online banking or card.
6. Receiving and Affixing the Renewed Permit
6.1 Once approved, the renewed work permit will be issued as either a sticker or card.
6.2 Employers should:
(a) Affix the permit in the domestic helper’s passport
(b) Update relevant details in the MAID Online system (https://maid-online.imi.gov.my), if applicable
